A Christmas Caracol: 4 Reasons to Love the Season as an Equestrian

A Christmas Caracol: 4 Reasons to Love the Season as an Equestrian

Published by Elizabeth Greenberg on 21st Dec 2016

Equestrians are said to have their own language, their own style, and their own way of celebrating everything with their horses. With the holidays less than a week away, we wanted to get into the equestrian holiday spirit by sharing with you holiday horse traditions from around our nation.

Stall Decorating

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go.

Riding isn’t just a sport, it’s a lifestyle. Your horse is more like family, and for family, we decorate like crazy. Perhaps you want your horse to live in a magic winter wonderland, maybe they’re more of a gingerbread pony, or, for the more refined equines, a classic Christmas stall decoration.

If you decorated your horse’s stall for the holidays, send us a picture so we can feature your fabulous work! Follow @caracolsilver and post your photo on Instagram with #caracolchristmas so we can find it!

Christmas Outfits

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. . .

While humans get to wear ugly Christmas sweaters, sparkling dresses, and jingle bell jewelry, many equestrians have felt that their horses have been left out. Over the years, crafters and companies alike have worked to create some of the best Christmas outfits for your horses and we’ve featured the results below!

We’ve seen a lot but we want to see what you’ve come up with this holiday season. You know what to do; Follow @caracolsilver and post your photo on Instagram with #caracolchristmas so we can find it!

Holiday Rides

May you be blessed with warmth in your home, love in your heart, peace in your soul and joy in your life.

The Holiday Ride exhibition below is performed by members of the Ethel Walker School Equestrian Team, a high school for girls with a passion for horses and a drive for higher education. The drill is created, and performed, by the students and many of the school’s donated school horses. Enjoy!

Sleigh Rides

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening. . .

Sleigh rides are a timeless part of every classic Christmas story. Have a look at North America’s Horse Drawn Sleigh Ride Directory to find a sleigh ride near you and enjoy the sights of the holidays.

All of us at Caracol Silver are wishing you the happiest and merriest holiday season of all!
