FEI World Cup Finals Take Omaha By Storm

The horses are coming and they're traveling in style on a Boeing 777 airliner, equipped for the likes of world champions. 

The FEI World Cup Finals brings the top dressage and show jumping riders from around the world to compete on the international stage at one of the most prestigious events. This year the show will be held in Omaha Nebraska at the Century Link Center. It is expected that the competition will have an approximate $50 Million impact on the local economy between horses, riders, vendors, and visitors!

Hans Peter Minderhoud and his mount Glock's Flirt, are the defending champions. The team will be competing against top riders including, 

  • Isabell Werth (GER)
  • Carl Hester (GB)
  • Laura Graves (USA)
  • Kasey Perry-Glass (USA)
  • and Steffen Peters (USA).

Minderhoud may have his work cut out for him with Werth, Hester, and Graves all making headlines in the past year.

In the show jumping ring, Steve Guerdat defends not one, but two, consecutive FEI World Cup Championships. Vying for his title are top members for the North American league, including:  

  • Laura Kraut (East Coast, Rank 2, USA)
  • Audrey Coulter (East Coast, Rank 3, USA)
  • Christian Heineking (East Coast, Rank 4, GER)
  • Mclain Ward (East Coast, Rank 5, USA)
  • Nayel Nasser (West Coast, Rank 1, EGY)
  • Karl Cook (West Coast, Rank 2, USA)
  • Christopher Surbey (West Coast, Rank 4, CAN)
  • Jenni Mcallister (West Coast, Rank 5, USA)

Visitors are welcome to see the horses warm-up, visit the show grounds, and take part in the fabulous shopping! However, if you would like to watch the show, be sure to buy your FEI World Cup tickets beforehand.
